2017 Summer internship

Light Transport Entertainment, Inc. is looking for excellent students.

This year is limited to Japan domestic student, or oversea exchange student studying in Japanese university and having valid work permit in Japan.

Topics

• Help the development of realtime raytraced photorealistic character rendering engine we are developing(especially subsurface scattering and Marschner hair shader/rendering). Experience of Maya exporter development is a plus. Its like a realtime raytracing version of The Aukland Face Simulator: http://www.abi.auckland.ac.nz/en/about/our-research/animate-technologies.html)
• Research and develop Hair geometry reconstruction from an image(machine learning, geometry processing, etc) (e.g. AutoHair: Fully Automatic Hair Modeling from A Single Image http://gaps-zju.org/autohair/ )
• Inverse rendering of face from an image(InverseFaceNet: Deep Single-Shot Inverse Face Rendering From A Single Image: https://arxiv.org/abs/1703.10956)
• Inverse rendering for AR/VR application(e.g.: http://grail.cs.washington.edu/projects/emptying/)
• Closed: Spectral reconstruction of photo image, spectral film simulation, raw image processing for computer vision and 3D reconstruction(e.g: http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~nguyenho/)

Required skills

• C++(Mandatory)
• OpenGL/GLSL(Mandatory)
• English or Japanese(Chinese is a plus)
• Experience in Machine Learning is a plus
• Camera and Lens knowledge is a plus.
• CUDA or OpenCL experience is a plus.
• Mobile application development(iOS, Android) is a plus

Working place

Shimokitazawa, Tokyo or in remote(in Japan country)

Wage

2,000 yen/hour~

Period and workload

• Jun 2017 ~ Sep 2017
• Non spring/summer vacation month: 1~2 days(6 hours/day) per week
• spring/summer vacation month(usually Aug-Sep): 2~3 days(6 hours/day) per week

Output

We encourage to write and submit research paper(Please consult with your supervisor)
