Data is one of today’s biggest assets but organizations need the right tools to manage it. That’s why, during the last decade, we’ve seen new data-management technologies emerging and getting past the initial hype. The so-called “big data” products, Hadoop and its surrounding ecosystem first and NoSQL immediately thereafter, promised to help developers to go to market faster, administrators to reduce operational overhead and devote less time to repetitive tasks and ultimately companies to innovate faster.
The need for change.
One could argue there’s been some success, but the crave for new and different approaches gave birth to hundreds of…
As some may have noticed, I’ve recently left OrientDB and am moving on to the next adventure. During the multi-model database journey I’ve learned a lot and have fond memories of what we’ve achieved with the amazing team there. Some details are in a recent Press Release, but working with a startup means much more than what you can capture in words.
I’d like to say thank you to my former colleagues who’ve been working alongside me to transform the company and deliver results that we didn’t even dream of. …

They systematically narrowing down the options and deep dive only the products they ultimately purchase. The post-sale experience is then used to validate the choice and build some kind of loyalty with the brand.

You might have seen the announcement re: Contactlab, Density Design and Calibro contributing to RAWGraphs and have probably wondered as to why we’re cooperating with a research institution, a design studio and the ecosystem. Well, the short answer is that data visualization is a team sport and that’s the reason why we’re launching an open innovation initiative.
With this endeavor we want to encourage collaboration on an open source project that’s widely used by data visualization technologists globally. …
