The smartphone camera feature no one talks about
The technological improvement of smartphone cameras over the last few years has been remarkable to say the least. At this point in some cases even the trained eye struggles to distinguish between a picture taken with a DSLR and one taken with a modern smartphone. However, there’s one feature that could close the gap even further when it comes to videos.
Even though «real» cameras have a clear hardware advantage, phones can mostly make up for that using software. This is especially true when it comes to fake bokeh, which uses software to simulate a shallow depth of field with impressive results.
Unfortunately, there are still no smartphones that can do the same for video, and no one seems to ever talk about this online. This is such a pity, because I believe it would be an absolutely awesome feature to have, allowing even better and more professional looking content to be shot on smartphones.
What about you? Wouldn’t you love to have such an amazing feature on your smartphone? Because I most definitely would!
