I wouldn't say a replace. Doesn't make sense in my mind, when you want to store several components communication, navigations, time-travel behaviour …more than data.

You didn't mention MeteorJS, but meteor is one of the first of the frameworks to use subscriptions with websockets (ddp protocol), and bring to the front only what you need through a mini-mongo diff with the server.

The adoption of GraphQL is a fantastic move for any project, as you mention. And I see more a future with both GraphQL, and some lightweight store.
