8 Best Pastel Goth Outfits for Male and Female Goths Pastel goth outfits are all the rage these days, with many people opting to wear soft pastels with darker accents instead of the pitch-black that’s typically worn by most goths. However, while it may be easy to throw on some pastel boots and call yourself a pastel goth, there’s more to being in this subculture than just your clothes. These 8 best pastel goth outfits will help you find your unique style and stand out among your fellow goths as the stand-out member of this increasingly popular subculture.

1) Long Sleeve Hoodie

Long sleeve hoodies are a goth staple and best worn with dark skinny jeans. Stitching on these hoodies must be subtle, but creative to make your outfit stand out. Dark hues like deep purples, light grays, midnight blues and black will compliment any set of long sleeve pullovers you buy. Stay away from bright colors or bold designs so you don’t distract from your pastel goth outfits. Dark lipstick or eyeliner is always a plus!

2) Black Fitted Skirt

To complete your outfit, wear a black fitted skirt with fishnet stockings. Black skirts aren’t just an essential item in everyone’s closet, but they can be worn while on school grounds or in a professional environment. When you want to show off your goth style, but keep it professional and appropriate at the same time, don’t be afraid to throw on a black fitted skirt. Make sure that you choose one that hugs your hips without showing too much skin!

3) Back Tie Tank Top

As goth fashion is typically dark, black, and has many other neutral colors in it, it’s important to find some cool ways to mix in pastel tones that create a nice contrast. A good place to start with pastel goth outfits is with bright clothing pieces. With a solid-colored top like a tank top or shirt you can find one in your favorite pastel color or even go as far as making your own with paint!

4) Puffy Sleeved Sweater

This pastel goth outfit is one of my favorite looks, though it can be tough to wear in certain seasons. In spring and summer, you’ll definitely want to stay away from sweaters unless you’re in a climate that doesn’t get cold. Puffy sleeves can be especially hard to rock when there’s a warm breeze — the puffy-ness only adds volume to your arms.

5) Black Cargo Pants

Black cargo pants are a classic part of any goth’s wardrobe, whether you wear them to school or to work. Since cargo pants can be very roomy, it’s easy to overstuff them with random junk — so resist that urge! Keep your cargo pants simple and clean by keeping a few items in your pockets: keys, cell phone, etc. If you wear accessories (chains, etc.

6) Cropped Hoodie with Plaid Skirt

The first pastel goth outfit is a casual outfit that pairs a cropped, off-white hoodie with a plaid skirt. This outfit was worn by Alice Cullen in New Moon. She looked chic yet cute in her black shoes, pink sweater, and loose blouse with pastel blue jeans. For added style points, put on white knee socks or tights to finish off your look.

7) Light Wash Trousers

Light wash pants are one of those trendy items you should always own. You can find them in a variety of colors, they can be worn anywhere, they’re not expensive, they’re basic but also easy to make a statement with. They’re perfect for pairing with other pastel goth outfits like faded black t-shirts or striped tops, or even solid white pieces like collared shirts or casual long sleeve tees.

8) Floral Dress

To pull off a pastel goth outfit, start with a floral dress. This delicate style is cute without being too girly, and it comes in a variety of colors that will complement any look. It’s versatile enough to be worn with flats for school or with black boots for a gig at night. Pair it with fishnets or hosiery to make sure you’re showing off your legs, too!
