You’re absolutely right, and I stated the same in my launch report.

I see an issue with its implementation, however. There’s too little correlation between what you see in Stories and what’s in the traditional feed — not from a casual vs curated standpoint but in the way you see all the casual stuff back-to-back, then you see the curated traditional feed. It’s disjointed, so the intent of the creator isn’t as effective as it should be. You can’t see a user’s Stories content when you go to their profile either.

This shouldn’t be hard for them to fix, so I expect a quick evolution in this area to something that suits both your and my expectations for the feature.
