Heartbreaking, and beautifully written. I wonder if she was just having fun — playfully making the best out of a faulty elevator, and exploring the hotel, then was trapped in the tank, taking off her clothes in the hopes she would not be dragged down by them, and could more likely save herself? The hotel was tragically remiss with its access to the water tanks, which need only be accessible by the workers who tend them.
