Spell Bound

We witnessed the solar eclipse yesterday — The Moon passed completely in front of the Earth, blocking its light. A total eclipse of the Sun hasn’t been seen since 1979.

The solar eclipse reminded me of something: to write about what you care most at every opportunity without being blocked or prevented by personal or external opposition.

That contains matters of the heart, design, philosophy, cosmology, scientific inquiry, human relationship, social underpinnings, politics, but most importantly, spirituality and the meaning of life.

Often, we can allow opinions or expectations inhibit true expression. And this freedom goes for those with whom we disagree. I have disagreement with friends of different beliefs and world views, but I welcome and encourage that they share them in order to understand better why they hold them.

Recently, a reader left a long comment arguing against one of my articles on Intelligent Design. Some might think to get offended or to leave a vicious reply, but I was thrilled! My writing actually caused one to think about why they hold their world view.

If I die tomorrow, I would hope that the final words I type have been ones of unashamed truth: about God, how He speaks, and why He matters in life. All in the hopes of touching the lives of anyone reading it. This means sharing the hope for life’s purpose.

Look around you at the beauty that is Creation. Never stop star-gazing, or fawning over the inexplicably intricate, powerful, breathtaking blueprint seen in a flower, bird, or tree.

Never stop being thankful for every bit of O2 you inhale and exhale every day on this Earth.

Never stop writing about what matters and being spellbound by all that is around you.
