What about when one is poor now and can’t afford all food one needs? I take multivitamin/mineral supplements because I know damn good and well I’m not eating enough foods with those nutrients, much less enough food. My doctor wants me to put on weight (mine varies from 113–120 lbs; I’ll probably keep some on now that it’s getting cooler). I also have a blast-furnace metabolism, though it’s slowed down since I completed menopause. Plus, while I don’t mind cooking, I’ve gotten to despise doing dishes. I’m with the late Phyllis Diller: I want an oven that flushes!
