The kids are back at school (can we get a Hallelujah!) and it is back to routine for most families. If you are looking for healthy, active things to do this weekend then we have the best list in the area!

SATURDAY (8th September)

Cycle Extravaganza

Hillingdon Council continues it’s promotion of cycling in the borough with a Cycle Extravaganza at The Closes in West Drayton. On hand will be Dr Bike to help with any minor repairs, cycle related games and a cycle circuit. Take the kids down with their bikes and enjoy all things in two (or four if you are using stablisers) wheels! https://www.hillingdon.gov.uk/events?rt=event&ei=2847108&ds=2018-09-08&de=2018-09-08&di=0&si=a&sl=0&sx=0&sy=0&sr=3

Have a healthy lunch at Ruislip’s newest resturant

Arens Bar and Resturant is well known in Pinner. They have recently completly refurbished the 6 Bells site on Ducks Hill Road in Ruislip. With a great lunchtime menu full of healthy options it is a great place to stop after a walk round the Lido or through Ruislip Woods. Check out the new menu here http://arensbar.co.uk/food/ArensBar_LunchMenu_V2.pdf — mines the Super Food Salad please!!

Get your kids to try a new Olympic Sport!

Junior Water Polo starts at Uxbridge Pool, Saturdays from 4pm to 6pm. Kids aged 10–18 welcome, must be a competent swimmer. All the sessions are led by a trained coach. There is no joining fee and the first session is free. After that you will pay £10 for the next two sessions and then £20 a month from then on (roughly £5 a week). A great way to wear the older kids out and make new friends! http://www.loveuxbridge.co.uk/events/d/148702/junior-water-polo-training/

Water polo faces are optional!

SUNDAY (9th September)

Support a great cause and stay active!

Harefield Hopsital host their annual Fun Run and Family Day this Sunday the 9th September from 10am to 3pm. Support those who are running the family run, 5k or 10k routes. For the rest of the day there are craft stalls, dance displays, food stalls and lots lots more. All the money raised on the day goes towards the Harefield Transplant Appeal, which supports the life-saving work of their world-class heart and lung transplantation team.

Relax

Sometimes it is hard to take time just to relax. So this Sunday try and take some time for yourself (even if it is just 5 minutes) to be mindful. Click this link to see a video of a full body stretch that only takes 5 minutes to do https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2L2lnxIcNmo
