I think your approach here is really helpful Alastair. Instead of writing about how ND people are different, this actually starts to expose the assumptions and heuristics that constitute neurotypicality. Making the familiar strange.
I especially liked your point about how most of us skim through the stimuli and experiences of life, thereby missing out on more mindful engagement, hence we need to actively go against our habitual cultural flow to spend time intentionally doing Mindfulness. It reminds me of the way one of my daughters tends to be: super-absorbed in her task and totally unaware of what’s going on just around her.
