The first recorded ancient Olympic Games took place in 776 BC in Athens, Greece. For centuries, various organizations tried to take over the name of the Olympic Games, until the ICO (International Olympic Committee) was created in 1890. Since then, the ICO has recognized over 250 sports organizations.

Since the history of sports began, there has always been a wish by the players to compete amongst the best and earn rewards. But there has also been a wish by individual organizations to organize events and profit from them. In the past, this used to be necessary due to the complexity and high costs, until the internet and blockchain technology came along.

Nevertheless, as of today, if a player wants to compete in any kind of sport they have to depend on centralized organizations, pay hundreds of dollars to subscribe to federations, and then organize their schedule around the one-weekend tournament they also had to pay to play.

In addition, professional athletes that are not at the top 10 tiers in their sport, are still contributing time and effort that is valuable to the companies that organize the events. However, centralized organizations that collect the revenue from these events, have failed at fairly distributing the value back to their athletes.

Until now.

Ludus is a free decentralized sports platform and now we plan to give back the value to our users with blockchain technology.
