HoloLens & Mixed Virtual Reality
Experimenting with e-Commerce
Since we acquired our Microsoft HoloLens last week, we were eager to build something that would bring real value to our end customers.

So, What is Mixed Virtual Reality?
Essentially, it is the concept of mixing reality with virtual reality to produce new environments and visualizations. Physical and digital objects co-exist and interact in real-time, and Microsoft HoloLens offers that possibility.
Our Experiment
We needed a simple and funny idea to start with — something that would “immerse” the user into a mixed virtual reality world — so we came up with this basic plan:
We have a real product registered in one of our application’s example stores, and the user would be able to bring the product into his room, check the size of it and how it fits, check some additional information using voice command, and then drop the item into his cart. At the same time, it would be synced with his online cart. How amazing would that be?!
There are still lots of improvements we could make, but it’s pretty incredible to see something work right away after just two days of working on it.
We look forward to sharing more experiments like this one soon 😎
