I do like your letter Sajid. I think we’ve been gaining more creative confidence and showing the value we can bring to the table. I feel we are asking the right (and dumb) questions. Those that are so dumb that never asks but the answers are even dumber (i.e. “because that’s the way we always do it” or even worse “I don’t know”).
Despite the value we might bring, I feel we still miss the business conversation. The short-term goal, the show-me-the-money-NOW conversation. I’m not saying that’s right or wrong, but we still need to educate others and adapt ourselves to live in that world (maybe that’s the telescope and microscope approach). Or maybe, as designers, we need to tackle culture and the people management (HR) space
