Amazing ways to optimize your vacation to Germany
1- Getting ready to leave home again
My trip to Germany was fantastic I learned many interesting things and saw many beautiful places. But before the fun began I had to prepare the luggage, both me and my mother made sure that everything needed was inside and ready to go, that included my clothes, medicine, food, camera, etc. After that I had to prepare mentally, and by that I mean that I had to know how to act in Germany, how they are, etc.
2- An interesting welcome
After the very long day of flying from San Diego to Munich we arrived around 10:00 am, we got our bags and went to the airport’s subway station. After that, we searched for the station that was nearest to our hotel and then we went to leave our things in our hotel. Later we went to visit the old Munich and some classmates started to explain the buildings that they choose to talk about and after that I’ve got to see the beautiful and interesting side of Germany.
3- FaceTime: The best solution
Of course one big part of the trip was me leaving my home and family behind so I had to find a way to stay in touch with them. With a rate so high, cellphone calls were out of question, but I used the same strategy I used last time I was in Europe, I got internet connection and used FaceTime to make a video chat with my parents which comforted me from being away in another continent, this also helped me get updated with what happened back home.
4- My amazing experience
The most interesting part of travelling is the places you visit and the knowledge you get from it and the same applied to this trip as in my two weeks in Munich and Berlin. I’ve got to see many interesting places like the castle that inspired the classic Disney castle, or the Berlin TV Tower’s Observatory. I enjoyed every single building we were in and in the process I learned the history of Germany, from medieval times to the Second World War to the present. I surely want to visit both cities again.
5- Less space, more problems
Now the next thing to do after enjoying the trip is the sad, yet awaited return back home, the worst part of it all is fitting everything in the baggage but as they say “everything fits in a cart if you know how to fit it”, so I spent all night putting the souvenirs and my things in the bags. By the time I was done, the suitcase, the computer bag and my backpack was full to the brim and nothing else could fit in there but I did it. Next we left the hotel at 5:00 am so we could go to the airport back to San Diego.
6- Adjusting your internal clock
Here comes the worst of coming back home: The hour zone change. This is brutal, especially since the next day it was school day so it was hard to wake up at 5:00 am and I ended not going to school on Monday. The next day I went but I was still feeling the time change which made me sleepy on the day and active on night. I’m still working on adapting to the change so let’s hope this feeling stops soon.
