How I got 100,000 Pages Likes in 1 Month
I will tell you how I did it and why everyone can do it.
Long story short:
At the end of August 2014, I started trying out the Facebook Create a Page feature to increase my general audience.
At first, I experimented a little bit to create a page, which has the potential to go viral. Although some pages were getting a few likes nothing extraordinary happened. Until one day, where I gained over 20,000 new organic likes and started getting huge publicity which ended up in over 100,000 people liking my page in 1 month.
What this blog will talk about:
I have found some tricks which repeatedly seem to work when creating pages, especially on Facebook. These pages will, if done right, create huge amounts of traffic and will in the future provide you with a good following.
Not only that, I will give you insights of what I have learned regarding Social Media Sites.
Most of my knowledge I gained from university classes, business start-ups from friends and personal experiences. The tips and tricks giving by this writing should be enough, so that you can create your own popular Social Networking Site.
Not only that, it will also demonstrate how to keep your followers interested once you get the attention. This can be difficult and if not done right, it can cause your page to not make the big jump into going viral.
But no more of that, let’s get started…
Below, you can look at the statistics of my first viral page: “Millionaire Snapchat”.

How I did it and why:
At first, I started by researching what kind of brands/apps or Facebook Pages seem to be getting a lot of attention at the time. This was done by researching mainly Instagram,Facebook and online platforms like 9Gag and Reddit.
The knowledge gained from that, gave me a general idea of what is getting a lot of likes and a high amount of audience at the moment. I researched a lot and came to the point where I started analyzing my own Facebook feed. When taking an in depth look at it, I began to notice something very interesting. There was this new kind of “hype” starting, where most of my friends started liking and sharing a lot of Snapchat related things. (f.e. Funny Snapchats, Rich kids Snapchat, Best Snapchats)
So I thought, why not do something similar like those sites did? Create a page connected to a big brand and share some interesting/funny and never seen before content.
My thought process at this time was, that I wanted a huge following so that when I get a business one day, I already have some people behind my back who are willing to support me. A good amount of follower and having an audience no matter how big it is, is never a bad thing.
So two pages: “Rich kids Snapchat” and “What happens in Private Schools goes on Snapchat”, became a significant huge following and most of my friends were liking them. After analyzing these pages for a few days I noticed they made big jumps of 5,000 Likes every single day.
So I thought, If they can do it I can do it as well. So I created my own page similar to those two but still slightly different called: “Millionaire Snapchat”. Why “Millionaire Snapchat”? Because in these days everyone at least once thought about how life as a super rich guy looks like.
My content was to some extend very controversial and douchey but people enjoyed looking at it. It even got a lot of hate at the start, but whatever it all worked out at the end.
Don’t let people tell you that your ideas are not good.
What could be the benefit of you creating a Social Networking Site?
1. Money
Money can be earned if done right. This can happen through selling your site (to which I will come later)or giving Shout-outs to other sites.
At first, I would have never thought that people would actually pay for something like a “shout out”, but believe me, most people online want to get a huge following and some do everything to get it.
Furthermore, you could look into getting some sponsorship’s or even create your own personal business with/through your Social Networking page. I saw many businesses start as a Social Media Sites, which earn a ton of money now.
2. Audience
You will build up an audience, which is never a bad thing to have. Imagine, later on you decide to create a business start-up. For that you will need a certain audience, who might give their valuable opinion and support you.
3. Entertainment
It is to some extended entertaining seeing several people like a post you actually created. One can communicate and interact with people all around the world. You can try out many different things with your following, for example share videos/pictures you personally find funny and look at what other people think about them.
Getting your first attention:
At first, you need at least some attention so that other people see that your page even exists. In my case this attention came from alone, due to a lot of people being interested in Snapchat and probably looking for and liking different Facebook pages, which are connected to it.
In your case it might not happen on its own. By that time there comes the point, where you have to get your name out there, by either posting your link somewhere (other similar FB sites, photos or videos, in the comments), using hashtags or just simply asking your friends to like your page.
Don’t buy likes! You will only get so called “ghost followers”, who will not interact on your page at all.
Once you get the first 100 real likes or so your page will continue on growing if you put out quality content, which people can associate your site with.
Due to other people seeing on their timeline that someone liked a post of your page, they might become interested and take a brief look at it and even consider giving it a like.
In these days it is hard to get the attention from people, so design your page in a way that people actually want to look at it for more than 5 seconds before closing it again. Remember people have multiple tabs online and their attention spam is really short.
A tip would be to only post two to three times a day and at the start always keep it topic related. A personal mistake I made, was that I posted 6 times a day at the glory times of my page and some people got annoyed. A few even started disliking the page before I switched my schedule.
The amount you should post varies from page to page.
Remember:
Your following should be astonished by your content so that they actually press the like button(which people rarely do these days).
Consistency is the key.
It might take a few weeks to go viral or it might never happen if your Page isn't interesting enough for the audience. Never give up and continue creating new pages. Everybody can do it.
The going viral process:
The viral processes for me happened over two days through a picture post. It got huge attention and there was a fair enough amount of discussion on it, which skyrocketed my reach.
This is the picture at August 24th 2014:

It mainly happens through a post, which suddenly causes a lot of unusual attention take place on your site. That’s where you need to put even more work into your content, to impress the new people joining and to keep the growth spurt going as long as you can.
In my case that’s where I made another mistake, I didn't post enough at around August 30, because good and impressive content was hard to find in my situation. Still it was enough to reach the 100,000 likes in 1 month. So think about what number you could reach if you make no mistakes!
Find out more about your audience:
Get to know your audience by communicating with them. Ask them what they like and what they expect to see on their news feeds from you. This will help your future posts to get even more attention/likes/shares.
A thing which you can do is to analyze your statistics to see, where your audience comes from, age/gender and which posts get the most engagement. This gives you a starting point to what and when you should post.
In my case most of my audience were Males and a lot of them lived in the UK. So I would mainly post in appropriate times for them (so not when it is 2 AM in the morning in the United Kingdoms).

How to keep your audience:
My first tip would be to always create accounts on all the popular social networking sites. (Twitter,Pinterest,Instagram, Snapchat,Youtube…) You never know, you might use them at some point and having your name saved on there, so that no one else can pretend they are you is always a benefit.
Don’t let the fear of your idea being stolen stop you.
Another tip would be to check before you create a Page if the name you want to call it, is already taken on Social Media Platforms. That way you will see if someone else had the same idea as you. If they did and they don’t have a huge following yet, you can still catch up with them and even get a better following then them. You just need to put more effort and time than them into it.
The Social Media Accounts I created:
In my case I made my Snapchat account relatively early and I now have around a following of 6,000 people + on there. Of course it is hard to make content, but possible. ( Remember: There is always a way.)

The next mistake I made was creating an Instagram account relatively late, which had cost me a lot of possible followers. (If you didn’t know, Instagram from my experience, is one of the best social media app to create revenue on). So there had to be something done and after I reached the 100,000 on my Facebook page I started contacting some people for S4S (Shoutouts for Shoutouts).

I wanted to get more attention on both my Instagram and Facebook to keep the hype up after reaching 100,000 likes. I started contacting people via emails, which I found on there Facebook pages/Instagram Accounts. I aimed for people having a following of 50,000 + . At first I just copied and pasted a question, if they want to work together and do some S4S (Shout-outs for Shout-outs) and later on if they responded get into more detail with them.
Guess how many responded!
8 out of 100 people I emailed.
Never expect too much!
So emailing didn't seem to work out very well so I started getting some kik(messaging app) names from popular Instagram pages. These can be usually found on their IG Profiles. So I did the same thing and texted a bunch of people I didn’t know.

Suprisingly, I got a fair amount of responses. Through kik I started doing my first businesses with my Facebook Page and earned my first money through advertising different Accounts .
Not only that I met some very nice and interesting people, which were very helpful and awesome business partners overall.
Remember: Try to always keep in touch with them, because opportunities may arise and one day you might need each other.

Selling your Social Networking Site:
When it comes to selling your SNS I would be very cautious, since there are many Scammers on Facebook asking you daily if you want to sell the site once it gets a decent amount of followers. Of course you will also find some people who actually don’t want to scam you and actually are willing to pay huge amounts of money for your site. ( a start-up friend of mine actually offered me 700 $ for my page after it hit 150,000 likes but I didn't do it, because I enjoyed using it).
Here are some examples.

If you really want to sell your page I would recommend to get in contact with the person via Skype and create a contract. This in my experience is the safest because 1. you get to know the person 2. you will know his name (if anything goes wrong) and 3. it will most likely end up in a fair and safe deal.
Of course I wouldn't recommend doing it but if you need money quickly then it is an option to think about.
Final points:
A social networking site can be constantly used to advertise and increase your audience for new projects. The beauty of it is that you have a constant following which could help you out in the future if needed.
Before you create a page, have a plan what content you are going to post. Without good content you won’t get a substantial audience.
Consistency is the key. There are days where you will nearly get no likes and there are days where you get a huge amount of likes. Keep going and keep on posting.
Interact with your audience to always be up to date in what they are interested in. Interests change and the so called “hype” effect of brands/things can be over very soon.
Content is king. Everything you post has to attract the readers attention.
Remember: If they can do it you can do it as well
