3 Things you can do every day to Improve your Life

#1 — Stop expecting — The first thing you need to do to drastically improve your life is you have to stop expecting so much of yourself.

Look, you are not going to get it all done by tomorrow. Period.

No matter how hard you work, no matter what you expect of yourself, you are not a perfect mastermind that can do it all right away.

In fact, most of us are just starting out.

We have never disciplined ourselves, never got up early in the morning, and never really focused on being healthy or working hard.

You don’t expect a Beginner Swimmer to be able to compete with Michael Phelps!

So stop expecting that you can get discipline, waking up early, or whatever else you want to do right away.

Take that pressure off of yourself and take it easy for once.

You will get there, but you must allow yourself room to breathe and grow.

Improve your life by reducing the expectations you have of yourself so you will always be surprised and appreciative of your growth.

#2 — Start doing — That being said, you need to start doing something.

You’ve planned enough.

You’ve wasted enough time.

You’ve waited long enough!

Right now is not the time to think anymore, it’s decision-making time.

It’s time you chose to do what you want to or to leave it be.

It’s “Yes” or “No” time right now!

And if you decide for “Yes” then you have to get a move on TODAY!

Only when you act will your life change and improve.

I could give you hundreds of ways to improve your life, but not a single one of them will be of any value to you unless you actually do something with it.

Every day spend at least 1 hour working on getting closer to a dream of yours, if it is important enough then you need to do it daily.

Commit to your dreams, make the decision now, start working and work on getting closer each and every day.

#3 — Reflect — To keep improving you have to look at what you did and whether or not that worked.

Most people just run into their passions head first without ever taking a look back at what they were doing.

Sooner or later this always turns into something you never intended on being because you did not keep a close eye on it.

Find out what works and what doesn’t work.

Do more of what works and cold-heartedly scrap what doesn’t.

Remember that 80% of the results come from 20% of the work (Pareto’s Principle).

If we look at that in a different light it becomes painstakingly clear what we should improve:

Imagine that you have two machines.

In the first you are able to lift 80 lbs through 20 lbs of force.

The second machine allows you to lift 20 lbs by applying 80 lbs of force.

If you now increase the amount of force by just 5 lbs on both sides, the first machine allows you to lift 20 lbs more, while the second one allows you to lift 1.25 lbs of force more.

Keep what works, improve on that and scrap the other things!

Reflect every day on what matters most; find those 20% of work that will lead you to 80% of the results and invest all your time improving them.
