We are excited to announce that Adminca is now available for Parse Server!

What is Adminca?

Adminca is a cloud based admin panel that lets you view and manage your Parse and Parse Server data like never before. In January, we launched Adminca because we saw that the Parse data browser was not sufficient for non-technical users. It was too complicated and gave users access to the whole backend without any restrictions. Adminca allows you to set up and customize an admin panel that is easy to use and shows your users only what they need. …

Since our launch in January and especially after the Parse Shutdown, we have been welcoming a lot of new users to Adminca. Many of you have given us insightful feedback and great suggestions on how to make data management with Adminca even easier. We have been listening carefully to your wishes, and have released multiple new features to Adminca on a weekly basis. Here is a quick overview of some of the new features:

  1. Export Data to CSV: For each class, you can now download your data as a CSV file by clicking on the “Export” button in the upper…

Summary

Migrating to your own self-hosted Parse Server is the best solution in many cases. The intuitive Adminca admin panel will soon be available for self-hosted Parse Servers and will be just as easy to set up! We will also add more functionality (e.g. trigger cloud code, adding attributes/classes) to make up for the loss of Parse. You can already create your admin panel today and just keep using it once you migrate. Email us at help@adminca.com if you are having any problems or if you are looking for additional functionality.

What are the available migration options?

After the Parse shutdown…

Tldr: Parse.com will be deactivated within a year. Migrating and setting up your own Parse server is the best solution in most cases. The open source Parse server & SDK’s in combination with the great Parse community can replace Parse and go even beyond that.

Wow! Parse just dropped a bomb today! Parse will “move on” and shut down completely within a year, which is terrible news for anyone who ever built apps with Parse! We at Adminca certainly did not expect something like this and are still in disbelief. But hey, the show must go on!

What are your options?

So what can…

We have very exciting news! Following the start of the new year we are officially launching Adminca today. It is the first out of the box admin panel for Parse and comes with everything you need so your team or clients can manage data like never before. Try it for free at adminca.com and create an admin panel for your Parse data within seconds.

How we got here

While developing Adminca, we decided to start at the source. Interviews with start-ups, developers, and agencies contextualized the problems of existing solutions and identified the features and elements needed for a powerful admin panel. After…

Two weeks ago, the three of us headed out to the FbStart Initiative event in the Impact Hub Seattle. FbStart is a new program from Facebook designed to help early stage mobile startups build and grow their apps. It provides startups with mentorship, community and financial support.

In 2013 Facebook acquired Parse, so a substantial part of the event was actually a deep dive into the capabilities of Parse and how it can help mobile startups to jump start their business. …

Hello World, this is Adminca. We are very excited to meet you! “We” means Jordan, Frank and Lukas. The past two months have been an adventurous ride. With this first blog post, we want to share some of our thoughts about the idea that ultimately became Adminca.

We have been thinking and researching the problem of admin panels this summer, and actually started working on Adminca this fall. Living up to the startup cliché, we are currently working out of our own place in Seattle (there is no garage so we picked the hallway as Adminca headquarter). At the moment…
