Food automation should come first.

Whether it’s corporate greed, stolen taxes or the damned robots, the economy kind of sucks and especially so towards the bottom. A large number of people I know run in the negative by a fair margin and hope for good tax return to get back to zeroish. Automation should be here to save us, but so far, wages stagnate as productivity rises. The next 10 to 20 will surely see a drop in driving positions as self-driving cars come into thier own.

I think it’s going to get worse before it gets better, so this is my solution to minimize the pain of transition. We destroy the job of farmer, utterly and completely, across the globe with food black boxes.

The world needs to come together with an open source box filled with hydroponics, lights, robot arms and conveyor belts that takes in water, soil and fertilizer and spits out corn, rice and potatoes. And eventually everything.

They’re stackable and self-cleaning and probably standard cargo container sized. We flood the world with them. The farmers may be out of a job, but at least they won’t starve to death.

Let’s have Lockheed Martin build them for trillions of dollars.
