As a guy, something I really struggle with is admitting when stuff isn’t great. I tend to just say “I’m alright, don’t worry about it,” instead actually dealing with what’s going on. And I think im not alone in that. I think a lot of us want to just brush off the fact that we’re hurting, because we think that we can do it without help. We can deal with it, right? Is there something really wrong with trying to just grit our teeth through a struggle? I get told all the time that I don’t need to say that its fine when its not. But why? If that helps me feel better why is it that people will tell you it’s wrong? if it makes me feel like I can do this alone what’s the big deal?

. But you see, that’s just it. I say that because I want to lean on my own strength. But the Bible says that that is the wrong way to live. (Proverbs 3:5–6) Because we are humans and we don’t have all the answers we aren’t able to deal with things on our own. We need to give it to God, who is able and willing to help us. Like it says in first Peter to “cast all {our} anxieties on Him because He cares for you.” So, that’s the problem. We need to admit that we’re struggling and give it to God because anything else would be hopeless.
