The two biggest nails you hit on the head, IMHO, are the points on personal development and having a messy personal life. Too many people don’t recognize that the more they develop their skills/overall knowledge then the more likely they are to be successful. It’s simple really — the greater one’s knowledge and skills then the more value they can provide to others (getting to your first point). There’s a reason why successful people are avid readers.
Also, one can’t be successful at work if they’re constantly being pulled away by chaos. I think it was Jeff Bezos who said that people don’t need “work life balance” they need “work life harmony.” Neither work nor home life can be successful if the other is messy.
