We live in the best time in history to turn your passion into a career! If you have a negative view of our digital world and social media, you need to get that out of your head and realize what an amazing time we live in.

There are obviously negative effects of social media, I won’t deny that, but all progress and innovation comes with side effects. The invention of the automobile created crashes and thousands of people die from them every year, does that mean we shouldn’t have invented the automobile?

The internet has changed the world in record time and provided a tremendous amount of opportunity for anyone who has access to it.

One thing is for sure, you cannot stop the social media and internet trend, it’s only going to get stronger, with or without you.

The important thing that you need to do right now is realize this massive trend is happening and figure out how you can capitalize on it to create your ideal life.

The opportunities that are available to you right now because of the internet and social media are incredible and unheard of in the history of humanity!

Just the fact that some kids are making money by posting videos of themselves playing video games on YouTube should amaze you.

Or, the fact that people with large Instagram accounts, get paid by all sorts of different brands to use their stuff and post about it.

You may be thinking, “I can’t just become an expert.” Yes you can! You can become an expert at anything you decide to!

All you need to do is read, learn, educate yourself, create content, put it out into the world, and educate others. It’s that simple.

This is the information age, you can literally learn anything you want. There are no excuses here.

Now you must take into account your own strengths and abilities to make sure that this works for you. Let’s take basketball for example, just because you’re passionate about basketball, doesn’t mean you’ll be able to get paid to play it. You need to think about all of the different aspects of the industry and where you’ll fit in best.

So, do you like basketball news, basketball fitness, basketball nutrition, basketball radio, basketball history, and so on? There are so many different aspects of the sport that you can involve yourself in even though you’ll never be a professional basketball player.

So that is just one example, here are a few more common passions to get you thinking.

Nutrition

Music

Photography

Interior Design

Travel

Food

Finance

Relationships

Video Games

Sports

Fashion

Beauty

Business

And that’s barely scratching the surface, within each one of these topics, there are even more specific areas where you can become an expert.

You must consistently create quality content around your passion and share it with the world.

You must get your knowledge and skills out of your head and turn it into some form of consumable content. These relatively new digital platforms give you the ability to do this effectively so you can have a positive impact on your own life as well as others.

Also, don’t forget to network as much as you can along the way. Make sure you know who the big players are in your industry and seek to gravitate towards them and add value where you can. Be sure to give more than you take when seeking to make new relationships, otherwise people will view you as just trying to get something out of them. Always be genuine.

By doing these things you will give yourself an advantage over pretty much everyone in your industry (whatever your passion and purpose is). If you do it consistently you’ll be setting yourself up to become the expert and turn your passion into a career.

WARNING! This is not easy, it takes hard work and consistency, that’s why most people don’t do it.

However, if you want to be successful and turn your passion into a career, hard work is a small price to pay.

Don’t let your ideal life slip away because you’re too lazy to put the effort into becoming an expert.

Go out there and become the best at your thing, document everything throughout your journey and put it out into the world.

You’ll never get paid to do what you love and turn your passion into a career if nobody knows who you are, so go out there and let the world know!

You must intentionally design your ideal life, it’s 100% your responsibility, no one else will do it for you.
