Bitcoin Core only supports a single chain, so that would either be the main BIP148 chain, or (if miners split the chain) a “legacy chain”. It cannot track both chains. Unfortunately, separating the coins before sending requires awareness of both chains, so it cannot do that either. This isn’t a good situation (a chain split never is anyway), but if the chain is split, the process can be improved (the most reliable methods depend on mined coins post-split).
