What you should think about before tweeting about the Milwaukee riots

People will do their best to point fingers on both sides on the riots and the shooting but the issues reside in policies and segregation. As privileged white people, we don’t have the insight on how it is to grow up in Milwaukee as a black person. We do our best to understand but we will never know and that is another reason why people should think twice before putting out mean tweets and using inappropriate words like “thug”.

The more segregated Milwaukee gets, the more polarized everyone’s beliefs will become. I don’t blame the people who are rioting because they are fed up with their friends and family dying. I would think their anger is more rooted in the lack of opportunities in their communities and how Wisconsin and Milwaukee have been ignoring these black community issues for decades than it is towards their broken relationship with police officers.
