Our UX and UI team worked under Evolve X to deliver a modernized website that’s both an interactive experience and enables users to easily find the information that they’re looking for.

Meet our amazing team:

Our team consisted of the following members:

  • Luke (UX, project lead)
  • Uma (UX)
  • Miranda (UX)
  • Dogan (UI)

As the project lead and one of the team’s UX designers, my role was to conduct research, come up with a site map, design some user flows, wireframes, etc. and eventually create mid-fi prototypes for desktop, mobile, and tablet formats. After testing, the clickable prototypes were handed over to our UI designer, who created hi-fi wireframes and altered them based on testing results. …

Introduction

Trade Gothic is a typeface first designed by Jackson Burke, who continued to
work on further style-weight combinations until 1960 while he was director
of type development for Linotype in the USA.

Like many gothic typefaces of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Trade Gothic is more irregular than many other sans-serif families that came later, especially later ones like Helvetica and Univers. I designed a landing page to showcase the different styles within Trade Gothic and how they interact with each other.

Research

Through research, I found that Trade Gothic is an irregular typeface that has a certain personality and quirkiness to it, while still being versatile enough for everyday use. These qualities had to be reflected in the landing page, which also had to fulfill its central function of showcasing the typeface. …

Mavis McMullen Housing Society provides women-led housing for low-income, at-risk women and their families. MVMTLAB is a sports performance clinic that helps injured athletes recover while also learning about their bodies. Unlike other similar clinics, it uses neuroplasticity to help with recovery. This is important because many people continue to feel pain (and cannot perform as well) after physical recovery. Our UX and UI team worked with MVMTLAB to deliver their project goal: an app that helps users do the exercises that are taught in class, in the form of a 30-day challenge.
