Tuesday Truths and Appreciation:

Beautiful Imperfections
2 min readNov 6, 2018

As i went about my stalking rounds on the internet last night, i found myself falling in love with a social movement which is being spearheaded by an amazing awesome human that i haven’t had the opportunity of knowing in person yet i somehow feel like i have known her all my life.

The first time i met Bettinah Tianah was on our family small TV in our living room in my fathers house. She exhibited glam, wit, confidence but most importantly what got me was the way she celebrated her black skin and the African woman in her.

I remember going off one random Saturday as we watched NTV Uganda with my baby sister and i telling her how i also wanted to work on TV one day. “One day i will be like Bettinah or even Flavia Tumisime, or Sheila Gashumaba” i too will work on TV one day.

My inspiration was driven from seeing these young ladies stand before the camera not afraid of staying true to them selves. Sharing of their God given talent with the world, this is what got me and this has kept on pulling me to stalk them. I haven’t met any of them in person besides Flavia Tumusiime thanks to 40Days Over 40Smiles Foundation mentor-ship program.

Well, enough with my girlish crush cycle😉, i am here to invite you all to an amazing charity event Bettinah Tianah has put together on the 10th November at #SkyzHotel Naguru to help those in need, the cause of the day will be #SupportingAndEmpoweringGirls.

The catch here is that its not only a charity event, it also doubles as a meet & greet for Bettinah’s supporters (us). Not forgetting that tickets are at a give away price, just a 20k and you meet your favorite MC and TV personality, to me thus a day made. Tickets are available on Quicktek & Abryanz Collection store Garden city ground floor.

“The unfortunate need people who will be kind to them, the prosperous need people to be kind to. Charity begins at home but shouldn’t end there. Let’s all come together for this good cause.” Bettinah Tianah

All it takes is for you to give and donate whatever you can. If you can make it to #skyzhotel Naguru on the 10th, you can still make a donation ( contact 0778249029 ) and the funds will be used to buy different items that the girls of Bulamagi- Iganga badly need.
