Stop the Wenger out, He’s leaving anyway!
After 21 years at the club it’s time “Le Professeur” let someone else have a go.
Twenty years of securing a top four finish — guaranteeing champions league qualification — is coming to a juddering halt as arsenal enter the last few games of the season and likely the last few games of Arsene Wenger’s prolific career as Arsenals manger.
Entering the final 3 games of season with arsenal chasing Manchester city who are currently sit one league place above them with a cushion of 3 points. Arsenal who play stoke away — now I’m wondering if Arsene can do it on a cold windy night in stoke — and a game against the already relegated Sunderland who have already proved last week they have pride to play for, not just that but hopefully a move away to another premier league side for next season. Realistically Arsenal aren’t catching City who play two home games against teams that have nothing to play for — Leicester and West Brom.
Arsenals only real chance of getting European football next year lies with the FA cup — which because everything is sponsored now-a-days is now the emirates FA cup. However, standing in their way is probably the strongest premier league team for years, Chelsea. Sitting comfortably at the top of the league table, with a 7-point gap over Tottenham and the chance to clinch the title with an away win at West Brom on the more frequently occurring Friday evening games. The comfortable gap will allow Conte to be able to rest players due to the strength of their squad, which we saw in the semi-final against spurs when he benched both Eden Hazard and Diego Costa — which just shows how confident Chelsea are at the moment.
Arsene seems to have hit a brick wall as their chances of European football seem to be near impossible but something maybe more concerning for certain fans is that they will finish behind their North-London rivals Tottenham. This has intensified the amount of people joining the “Wenger Out” bandwagon, he has always had his critics due to his perfect football philosophy, however even recently the man that has played with 4 defenders has reverted to playing 3 at the back in recent matches. All you need to do is have a look at social media — the incredible reliable Arsenal TV for entertainment — to see just how infuriated arsenal fans are with Arsene’s recent mindset.
Choosing not to announce whether he will be extending his contact has just caused more unrest at the club — Even a school in Australia allowed students to display their disapproval. But, it’s not just school boys on the other side of the world that are displeased with his attitude, with increasing speculation about the future of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil slouching about the pitch. Even the Arsenal players don’t seem determined to fight for their manager. A new manager will change things up and provide new hope for the fans.
The increasing amount of pressure that is surrounding Arsene’s future at the club will be resolved in the next few weeks, however no matter the outcome of the FA cup Final or whether they catch Manchester City. “Le Professeur” will be leaving at the end of the season, He will either leave on a high after winning the FA cup or will go out with people hopefully remember his legacy — NO- ONE will ever forget ‘The Invincibles’ of season 03/04 — rather than recent times.
