A couple of years ago I was at the Bloomberg design conference. Stewart Butterfield of Slack was on stage doing a Q&A. One of the things he was asked about was how his team used data to make product decisions. Stewart’s answer reminded everyone that data was just one input to making decisions, and that he asked his team to make sure they used their intuition above everything else. He closed with a line that has stuck with me since “Don’t get drunk on stats”.
