Why do you read?

I read because I can escape the harsh reality I live in, and submerege myself completely into someone else’s life, whether that is an author’s or a character’s.

I read because stories allow me to put myself in other people’s situations. Reading has made me more tolerant, more empathic and more sensitive to others and their feelings.

I read because books are knowledge, and knowledge is power.

I read because books have taught me that I am not alone, that I am not the only person that has gone through a certain situation — there are more people like me, that think the way I do, that share my opinions, that have reacted just as I would in certain situations, regardless of if these people are fictional or not.
