Thanks for your comment! To answer your question, no. No, I would not recommend doing the four-fold breath all day. The reason? Doing the fourfold breath for extended amounts of time will very likely amount to overbreathing and produce mild respiratory alkalosis (unhealthy). You might try obtaining a heart-rate-variability monitor — it plugs into your iPhone. Use that during your daily four-fold-breath practice. It will train you, gradually, to gain control over your relaxation response. You’ll be able to increase our para-sympathetic nervous system’s donminance, somewhat, at will. I recommend Inner Balance. The software that goes with it is called HeartMath. It’s about $100 to buy. One of the best investments you’ll ever make!
