Lydia Lucena Lucas

A follower of creativity and ingenuity

My name is Lydia Lucena Lucas, a 21-year-old student of the Audiovisuals degree in the Miguel Hernández University. I’m a music lover and a cinephile, with an attraction towards dramatic and philosophical content. I have a great interest in art and a tendency toward the sadder aspects of everyday life, which has made my academic projects somewhat heartbreaking, but very real.

Despite not being very talkative, in my mind there are many ideas that I would like to show to the public through artistic expression, whether through music, literary writing or cinema, with the creation of transgressive scripts, scripts that move the viewer just as have moved me experimental directors like Chantal Akerman or philosophical directors like Richard Linklater.

I’m not only a follower of the artistic, but I’m also interested in using technical material, from the use of cameras, making unusual and exceptional shots with them, to lighting and sound control or video editing.

In addition, I can feel satisfied with the language and linguistic education that I have received and I’m receiving, since I’m currently studying at the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas of Elche to achieve level C1 and I have had the opportunity to translate various books from English to Spanish as a freelancer. I’m hopeful that this will give me more opportunities in large countries and also in the most remote countries of the world, not only in Spain.

Finally, I attach the link to a short film that I made with some of my classmates last year, a short film that was a finalist at the Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente de Elche:

And I also attach an image of me:
