So, you want to get fit in 2016? It can be done

If your New Year’s resolution is to lose weight, get fit(ter), become more attractive, and, as a bonus, boost your self-confidence and your sense of self-worth, know this:

It can be done.

You can do it. Yes, YOU. It all comes down to MINDSET.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” I bet you’ve heard or read this old Chinese proverb countless times. But it is true, and what is true bears repeating.

Visualize your goal. Evoke the image of the person you aim to have become by the end of your journey and realize this: You are already in the process of becoming that person. Your transformation is already taking place.

Once you’ve taken the first step, you are no longer at the starting point. By taking the second step, you’re leaving the first step behind. The one you were is no more. You are new. Things are happening in your body and in your mind. With every step you take.

You have already changed. Your transformation is already taking place.

So: Do not be in a hurry to see results. At this point, results are yet invisible to the naked eye. But they are taking place. Inside your body. Inside your mind.

Don’t ever forget that. Remind yourself of that fact every single day. Say to yourself: “My transformation is already taking place. I am already becoming the person I set out to become. It’s not visible just yet. But it is happening. Inside my body. Inside my mind.”

Do that and soon the results will become visible too. At first only to yourself, but in time to the whole world.

At this point, you will probably feel pride and joy and excitement about your accomplishments thus far, and right you are too. You are doing it! You have covered some distance on your journey of a thousand miles. Steps one and two and three are far behind you now.

But now that the fruits of your labors have begun to show, now that you have proved to yourself that you can do it — now is not the time to call it a day. You still have work to do. Your journey is not at an end.

Keep taking steps towards your ultimate goal. One at a time. And keep reminding yourself that so long as you keep going things keep changing, and changing for the better. Inside your body and inside your mind.
