An extraordinary love-story

Young Woo is an autistic genius who is shown to be the first Attorney in the Republic of South Korea. She is a genius, but as a patient suffering from autism has her own inhibitions. She is not good with social human interactions, a romantic one being the last option she would involve herself into. And Jun-Ho, who is perfectly normal, seems to be helplessly drawn towards her, and unconditionally falling in love with her. His kind of love , as he expresses during his confession, is to the extent that it makes him sick. It’s deep but not toxic. He can listen to her rants about the whales endlessly as he loves her. He even takes part in a protest to save the whales just to spend a little time with her. He’s drawn towards her so organically that it doesn’t seem abnormal at all. This kind of love, the real kind needs to exist to keep the world alive, and keep alive it’s goodness. He’s alright even if she cannot hold his hands for more than 57 seconds (because she is autistic and has her reservations). He doesn’t like it when she says they are not dating because he’s dying to offer that level of commitment. He wants her to meet his relatives, as he wants to express his love, out loud with such intrepidity. He just wants her, ready to face anything and everything. The kind of never ending, ever supporting love. The kind of love we crave for, the kind of love that I hope still lives.

Love means standing up for each other

At one occasion he took Young-Woo to visit his sister’s house. After meeting Young Woo Jun Ho’s sister voiced her apprehensions regarding his choice of life partner pointing that in the pursuit of being the one always taking care of her he would be left lonely and unhappy in the end. At that moment the way Jun Ho defended his love was drool-worthy. On the other hand overhearing this conversation, Young breaks up with him for the sake of his happiness, as she resonated with Jun Ho’s sister’s opinion about her and was aware of her own shortcomings. This kind love represented by both of them is the selfless kind of never ending, ever supporting love. Later Jun Ho explains to her the ways she makes him happy.

When they has lunch together her rants about the whales, make him happy, when they went weird dates, it made him happy, when there teeth knocked each other during their kiss, it made him happy, on seeing the parole in her eyes whenever she came up with a new idea, it made him happy and whenever he calmed her down by holing her it made him happy. He gave her umpteen reasons that gave him the joy whenever he was in her vicinity. The reasons the world couldn’t fathom, the world couldn’t see, but the reasons which more than enough for him to be with her. The reasons that made him that kind of love, that love eternally stands for. The kind of love that supports and stays and enlightens and alleviates the pain. The kind of love we wish to live for, die for, live and die with. That kind of unalloyed, unperturbed, extraordinary love.

Loving Father : Love for child

The paternal love: The unconditional love exhibited by Young Woo’ father was exceptional. When her mother deserted her right after she was born, Young Woo’s father raised her with all his might. Knowing she was autistic, he was always by her side, despite the fact that it made him feel lonely, he never for a moment thought of deserting her, nor did he give even an ounce of attention to bringing a companion for himself in his life. Given the fact that she was autistic, and the chances of her finding a job and a life partner were both miniscule, he stood by her side patiently, never expecting anything from her. Just staying by her side and accomplishing his duties, both as a father and a mother.
