Have you ever been between jobs and got stressed out looking at your bank account going down? Have you wanted to pick up some quick gigs, because you just moved to a new city and would like to explore the neighbourhoods midweek when it’s not so crowded? A lot of us have been going through this experience at some point, including myself.
How would you look for a temp gig? Google ‘temp work near me’ or go look at Craigslist postings? Walk up to a restaurant to ask if they need an extra server this evening? Go to a temp…
Walk down the street and ask any person if they buy coffee online, you’re very likely to get a no. E-commerce space is increasingly gaining popularity and there are millions of products that consumers are buying online. However, consumers still prefer to buy many products in-store, such as coffee. My first project at RED Academy’s UI Design program was to create a type spec in the form of a landing page for Tungsten.
Before learning about typography in my UI class, I wasn’t into this typeface when I first saw it. After my research and learning about the rich history and how much character this typeface has, I slowly became a fan of Tungsten.
Tungsten was designed in 2009 at the famous foundry Hoefler & Co. (H&Co), by Hoefler & Frere-Jones. …
