A Beautiful Mess

Connor, what a valiant attempt to bring together three [very] different texts. If I can bring in O’Donnell’s voice in my head, I would say the move towards integration is enough.

Too often, stories of trauma are fragmented. Indeed, it is the role of Evil to dispel and displace. The active attempt to bring together, to reconcile, is the counter-narrative to what Evil is attempting to do.

In the case of Tanner, her discussion of Lacuna, or what is missing in the void becomes the ground where the body can inhabit the dark and messy places in between. And of course Rambo will inject the Spirit, who represents the God who hovers over the deep and holds the entire process in his/her breast.

What a beautiful picture of integration, to subsume the fragmenting work of Evil. Alleluia. Alleluia!
