Silicon Valley Has A “Problem” Problem

SV and the start up scene abuses words — absolutely. While many would certainly do well to understand what’s happening in the rest of the world and other people outside of their tribe, the word “problem” is generic and requires expansion, certainly.

If entrepreneurs cannot describe what they are trying to achieve specifically then they need to go back to school, or, we need to take it into account that they aren’t really very good entrepreneurs (lacking the ability to tailor their message to a target audience).

My top word to red-line is ‘passionate’. I want to ask people who use this word a simple question, answerable in 60 seconds — “How are you passionate?” What you get as a response likely will not be a description of being passionate but something else.
