You’ve put your finger on a ‘silent’ problem in Europe. Over my 26+ years of international business, I have heard from employers in different European countries about how hard it is to fire anyone — so they hire the safest hires — and being ethnically non-Western European is a red flag. The high costs associated with employment in general also obviously contribute to the high unemployment rates.
