Incidentally, forgive my inescapably bitter attitude here, but hey, so happy you find these comments “enjoyable” as a discussion. I don’t. I find them unutterably frustrating, because I’ve spent 20+ years having to make the same comments over and over and over again, and I am still seeing the young women coming into tech facing a toxic environment.

You can walk away from this discussion and forget about it, because the issues are not ones that personally affect you on a daily basis. I can’t walk away from this. I live in it, whether I want to or not. Unless, that is, I want to become one of the women who drops out of tech, even though it’s a field I love, just to become one of the missing faces taken as proof that women aren’t “suited” for tech jobs.

It’s a little bit like a white man finding a brisk exchange of ideas about racism that he personally doesn’t believe in, “enjoyable.” The people on the other side of that equation may not find it nearly so.
