Summer Strike (2022)

Maybe growing up means learning that things don’t always go as we want. We can’t control everything, and we have to accept that some things are just the way they are.

It’s a painful truth, but we don’t have control over how people will treat us. Sometimes, no matter how much it hurts, we need to accept that there will always be people who don’t like us as much as we like them. Some people are simply meant to hurt us. Some people are meant to be with us only for a short time. No matter how hard we try, it just won’t work out. And maybe, we should accept how things could be. By embracing the “let them theory,” we give a safe space for people in our lives to be themselves, not trying to change them, but accepting them as they are.

Accepting the art of letting people bring us peace and serenity because not everything will meet our expectations, and this is something comforting. Because if they wanted to, they would.

It’s sad to realize that sometimes we meet people who significantly impact our lives, and we learn to love them deeply, but ultimately, they aren’t meant to stay with us. It’s hard to spend so much time with them, not knowing that one day they will leave. However, the beauty in these relationships is that we provide good company for each other when needed, and what matters most is that we are happy together while it lasts — whether as friends, lovers, or something else.

Let it go, let it be. You know, you can still be kind to them and love them deeply. Let yourself love them — until you’re tired. You are in control of your peace, so love those who love you. Someday, we will understand why it happened. Trust yourself and trust God.
