atom not hiding .gitignore files

For some reason, atom was displaying files that are in my .gitignore file. This hasn’t been an issue before but noticed it this morning when I opened the editor. I assume atom updated something in the background and this a side effect… idk.

I hid the files in my treeview by modifying config.cson. On a mac, you can find config.cson by going to the top menu bar: Atom>Config…
