An Interview with Jondhi Harrell, TCRC
In the city of Philadelphia, The Center for Returning Citizens works to educate society about the corruption of the prison system, start a conversation about the recidivism issue, and break the cycle of reentering prison. They also fight to end discrimination of those with a criminal record, the last group of people in the US that can legally be discriminated against. TCRC’s Jondhi Harrell discusses how they’re changing the conversation about criminal justice through social media and community outreach.
Mapping the Issue of Recidivism
Using the Storify platform, we have gathered information from different social media platforms that use the advances of the digital age to speak out about recidivism. Whether it is an organization like TCRC, or a hashtag like #BanTheBox, social media has helped spread awareness of the reentry process, catalyzing a social response for change and reform.
