As an engineer in 1970 who left the field in 1976 due to all the above, I salute those who stayed. I had kids and a worthless husband to support (also in tech field) and simply gave up fighting males who didn’t get it and that was early in computers. I left the last job over my pregnancy and went into management/accounting. Still old boys networks but stuck with smaller companies that gave me work and less hassle. It’s horrendous to realize it’s not entirely the same but (it was 1% female then) not overall much different. Kudos for bucking not only the system but your father. T fought sexism in the Navy in 1968 to 1970 and for another nearly 10 years after that. Thick skin doesn’t cover the issue.
