This is exactly right. Eating disorders, and anorexia especially, are highly reliant on visual cues and as such, those afflicted with or prone to them are greatly affected by imagery. Therefore, “artists” need to be careful about the “art” they put into the culture that may have a glamorizing effect. All stories about eating disorders should and must be very careful about their presentation — this truth means that film is a touchy medium to use when exploring this subject.
