In some cultural environments, when something is viewed as an evil act that costed humanity eternal life in paradise, people are made to feel a certain way about thing, and no matter natural and normal the thing may be, feelings of shame tend to bleed over into actions. I think her article was meant to be more a supposition about her thoughts on how our cultural environments teach men to suppress emotions rather than process them and the potential messages that can inadvertently emerge from those cultures.
