Random Acts of Kindness

It is often easy for us to forget the significance of random acts of kindness. How can we do this when we all are suffering with trials in our own life? We often disregard the fact that no matter what it is that we are going through, there is always someone out there suffering even more. We need to remember our blessings and spread positive energy. A small act of kindness can bring a huge amount of joy to ourselves and the people around us. Doing good to others will make us feel good as well!
“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” — Aesop
I am a firm believer in this quote! We always remember when people have been kind to us and how their small acts of kindness made an impact on us. It is very important to spread this kind of energy. Here are some easy acts of kindness we can do on a regular basis:
- Let someone go in front of you while waiting in line.
- Anonymously pay for someone else’s food.
- Give up your seat on a subway or bus.
- Give an anonymous financial gift for someone in need.
- Deliver some groceries to your neighbors or a financially struggling family.
- Compliment people- This will always bring a smile to their face and it will be a positive thought they will remember. You can never go wrong.
- Buy a copy of your favorite book and donate it to your local library or hospital.
Caring is a lot like flowers…give them some water, and they will grow. One person’s kindness inspires another’s. We’ve kept a bucket list of celebration ideas on display this summer to help inspire us to do fun things we might not normally think to do–how great would it be if we kept little bucket lists of kind acts on display to help us remember how fun it is to make someone’s day throughout the week.
The satisfaction of knowing you’re doing something to make someone happy is reward enough for acts of kindness. According to me this is a kind of real happiness.
