Shorts, Pants, Both or None.
Should I wear my shorts or pants today? I’m too lazy to check the weather maybe it’s chilly outside, but if I don’t check then, I won’t know, even if I check, weather is always unpredictable, a simple decision as this opens an unlimited number of possibilities.
This does not sound right, there must be a way to take a peek at all the other possibilities. I don’t want to settle with wearing a short and finding a perfectly sunny day, I want to experience every scenario even the most absurd ones, like having the sky rain frogs, or having the volcano in our town erupt just because of my shorts.
Fortunately enough — for me at least — some of the recent scientific theories back these fantasies up, these theories have not been rejected, and some scientists even think they might be plausible.
The theory states that there are infinite copies of our universe, where every possible scenario occurs. It is said that at every decision-making event the universe splits up and there exists no decision at all.
Both possibilities simply occur separated by an unbreakable inter-universal barrier, so if you are a boy, it is not because your mother gave birth to you that way, you’re just a boy here and, a girl in another universe, one you will never visit. You probably died in another universe, and you are a movie star or a scientist with a noble prize in another.
Your seemingly boring life now could have been interesting as hell if you just hadn’t had dinner yesterday for whatever reasons you could come up with, but, you’ll never know which is very depressing yet, interesting at the same time, because if this theory proves to be correct, then every time you fall in a problem or think your life sucks, you would not try to change it or do anything about it, because you know for a fact that there is another version of you that did not make that mistake, or has a much better life.

All the time you spent wishing that something didn’t happen or trying to change your future will turn into unfruitful attempts to tap into your other version.
Another very interesting issue to consider are schizophrenics or people with multiple personality disorders, because that way it is no longer a disorder, but more like a superpower.
In fact they might be the only ones with some sense of sanity in them. They are so special that they could move swiftly between two or more universes, changing their entire future effortlessly without caring about any effects that might have on the future, because all the possible futures exist anyway.

Mind-boggling as it is, it still makes some sense because it eliminates the need for time travel and the paradoxes related to it. Every time someone wants to time travel, they probably just want to change a certain decision in the past but that’s no longer needed anymore because all the possible decisions are occurring simultaneously.

Even if you just need to check out a certain era of time, then you would go to a universe where that era still exists, for example, a universe where dinosaurs still live and the meteors just decided not to strike the Earth. Although this theory eliminates the need for time travel it opens a field for creating “The inter-universe teleporter” as I like to call it.
We could go even further and combine this theory with a very basic understanding of quantum mechanics and the fact that some particles could exist in more than one place at the same time, then you don’t even need an infinite number of universes, just one having an infinite number of possibilities with varying probabilities, so next time you decide on wearing shorts or pants, don’t overthink it because you are probably wearing the pants, the shorts, both or none at all, at the same time!!
