For this question: “Should investors invest in ideas that they believe to have less merit so as to create equality across a portfolio?” — it should be about checking in with their biases and assumptions and whether it is actually the idea they believe has less merit or if it’s because it is a female entrepreneur presenting the idea.

The worst part about the way this questions is phrased, is that it assumes women pitch worse ideas than men from the get go.

In a case where the idea from a female entrepreneur is more challenging for an investor to invest in (all biases checked!), they could be taking other meassures such as providing valuable feedback and time for iteration that can lead to a stronger idea/pitch.
