What is bpost Future Lab?

The Future Lab is a brand-new innovation department within bpost. We are a special team that breaks away from the larger organisation to work autonomously on an advanced or secret project, usually tasked with breakthrough innovation on limited budgets and under challenging timelines. As an analogy, our working methodology can be compared to the Skunkworks approach from Lockheed Martin. We thrive on autonomy, and we 💙 that we have it.
At the core, we have a human-centered mindset. We investigate customer needs and build solutions for them according to the design thinking principles. We always seek an open-minded and empathic mindset both internally as externally (🎤-drop)
Our goal is to launch new products and services into the market, in order to become the leader in eCommerce logistics in Europe. And in order do to this, we are creating an awesome team of talented people.👫🚀
What is this team about?
Our team has at its core a human-centered thinking approach — a multidisciplinary team that is able to rapidly execute/ build prototypes, proof of concepts, measure the successes and failures and iterate further. Hands-on for sure.
We are looking for creative people (♂ and ♀) that are passionate about delivering novel and disruptive solutions to big problems (buzzwords, but TRUE!). We aim to build a team of risk takers, self-starters and ambitious professionals with technical, commercial and — most importantly — human affinity.
We work in an agile way (suppose you got that one already), where everyone is involved throughout the design sprint. Everyone has its expertise that is combined in order to reach the optimal solutions.
Who will you be working with?
Our small core team consists of:
- Strategist: serves as main interface with bpost, key accounts and strategic partners. You can already meet Patrick here.
- Hard-Core Ideator (OPEN): specialist in empathic thinking, innovation and development frameworks, methodologies and tools.
- Concept Designer: refines and visualises all ideas into real solutions and optimises the online, offline and connected customer journeys (that’s me).
- Lead Hacker (OPEN): a creative generalist with a strong technological affinity who puts our whiteboard stuff into the hand’s of the customers.
- Machine Learning Engineer (OPEN): enables solutions with machine learning analytics to anticipate and predict citizen needs.
- Project Guardian (OPEN): Responsible for following up on all running projects and making sure all deliverables are there.
- Entrepreneurs in residence (OPEN): these are the random experts that we pick up from the street. They know stuff that nobody else knows.
- All around fixer: Charlotte helps you take care of everything that could potentially distract you from being focused.
