I found this article really interesting. I have often wondered about the possibilities and what would happen to the world around us if we were able to significantly alter genomes. There would be many benefits, like many of the ones you listed above, and which I agree with. On the other hand, some bad things could come out of this. The human embryo experiments reminds me of the movie Gattaca which is a somewhat dystopian society that came about because of genetic alterations. I feel like many people could be positively affected, but others could face all of the consequences. I think it is still an important research topic that eventually benefit society, as long as it is kept within specific constraints.
