The introduction of the Macintosh changed my life forever
I’m a Macintosh nerd. I have been since 1984 when Steve Jobs introduced his baby to the world. Magical MacWrite, MacPaint and MacDraw applications on a 9-inch screen let me create visually, an ability that previously eluded me.
Later, faster color models with large screens, hard drives, scanners and networking evolved. Aldus Pagemaker’s desktop publishing, Apple’s LaserWriter, and Postscript fonts permitted the creation of print-ready catalogs and newsletters, changing the direction of my career. The Mac remains an integral part of my life and business.
Early in Mac ownership, I joined a Macintosh User Group. An anachronism to younger generations, our group still exists today, meeting monthly. COVID and an aging membership drove us to Zoom, and that’s where we’ve stayed. Free technical support, camaraderie, and excitement seeing new apps and the latest Macs, Watch, iPads, and iPhones keep us relevant. And our loyalty to Apple products remains unchecked.
